BUILT

Part of London's most ambitious brutalist housing estate, these concrete towers rise above a complex of arts venues, gardens, and lakes in the heart of the City.

The Barbican Estate was built on a World War II bomb site between 1965-1976. The three towers (Cromwell, Shakespeare, and Lauderdale) were the tallest residential buildings in London until 2010. The estate is now Grade II listed.
