This office building near Kringlan mall in Reykjavík has a distinctive half-finished tower — the top was never completed as originally designed.
Built between 1976 and 1982 by architect Kristinn Sveinsson, Hús Verslunarinnar has housed FÍS (Federation of Icelandic Merchants) and VR (Reykjavík Retail Workers' Union). The tower was meant to be taller but was never finished, giving it its recognizable flat-topped silhouette at the Miklabraut and Kringlumýrarbraut junction.
