Western Europe's tallest building rises like a glass splinter above London Bridge — designed by Renzo Piano, who sketched the original concept on a restaurant napkin.

At 310m with 95 floors, The Shard was completed in 2012. Its irregular glass facade was designed to reflect the sky, changing appearance throughout the day. The observation deck on floors 68-72 offers views of 64km on a clear day.
