BUILT

Built to honor a state ideology, this granite tower features exactly 25,550 blocks, one for each day in the life of the nation's founding leader up to his 70th birthday.

The 20-meter torch at the top actually lights up at night, making the total structure 170m tall. An elevator takes visitors to a viewing platform just below the flame for panoramic views of Pyongyang.
