A tiny tower on an islet in the Bosphorus strait, steeped in legend about a sultan who tried to cheat fate.

Turkish legend says a princess was locked here after a prophecy she would die of a snakebite,a snake arrived in a fruit basket. Also known as the Maiden's Tower, it has served as a lighthouse, quarantine station, and restaurant.
