Once a beautiful watchtower of the Moon, now a dead city that glows with a corpse-light and fills all who see it with dread.

Originally called Minas Ithil (Tower of the Moon), it was captured by the Nazgûl and became their stronghold. Tolkien described its light as luminous and sickly, like a rotting flower.
