Paris's most hated skyscraper is getting a dramatic glass-and-green makeover, transforming from a dark monolith into a light-filled tower with rooftop gardens.
The 1973 original was so unpopular that Paris banned skyscrapers for 40 years afterward. The renovation by Nouvelle AOM wraps the existing tower in a new glass facade with planted terraces on every floor, turning it into a "vertical garden."
